The City of Stonnington is offering support to apartments blocks to install solar PV systems.

Eligible apartment blocks can receive up to:

• 4-8 apartments in a block – up to $400 per participating apartment
• 9-15 apartments in a block – up to $200 per participating apartment
• 16+ apartments in a block – applications from apartment blocks of this size will be considered, up to $100 per apartment

Subsidy Criteria:

• Be located in the City of Stonnington;
• 75% of apartment owners in the block must approve and be financially contributing to the installation of a shared solar system;
• Be a completed development at the time of application;
• Be classed under the National Construction Code as a Class 2 domestic building or a group of horizontally attached Class 1a buildings;
• Not be a retirement village, commercial building or owned by a property developer or community housing organisation;
• Not be connected to an embedded network for its electricity supply;
• Have not had a solar (PV) system installed in the last ten years;
• Must have investigated need for planning permit and sought approval if required, if in heritage overlay;
• Install through the Solar Savers program.
