The City of Stonnington’s (Council’s) Sun Share subsidy offers up to $1,000 (ex. GST) per apartment to support people living in eligible apartment buildings to reduce the upfront cost of installing shared solar PV systems that can lower electricity bills by sharing solar energy fairly between apartments.
Owners corporations (OC) of eligible apartment buildings can receive the Sun Share subsidy. Payment is made to the installer on the OC’s behalf, offsetting total project costs. The OC must nominate an authorised representative or “Apartment Champion” to complete the application for the subsidy. This person can be either an owner-occupier or owner-investor of the eligible apartment building, and ideally be well organised and driven to see the application and installation process through to the end.

The Energy Insights subsidy is open to all Stonnington residents and homeowners.
One (1) discounted home energy assessment per residential property located in Stonnington is available. The property must not have had a Residential Efficiency Scorecard assessment completed on it in the previous 5 years.
Council discounts apply to residential homes only. You cannot get a Scorecard assessment in a home that shares heating, ventilation and air conditioning with other dwellings.

The City of Stonnington’s (Council’s) Energy for Everyone subsidy offers priority communities and concession card holders access to discounted home energy upgrades with Solar Savers.
Concession Card holders receive a 75% discount.
All other eligible Stonnington households receive a 50% discount.
Discount applies to the total cost of upgrades, up to a maximum of $2,500 (ex. GST) per household, per financial year. Upgrades must be in line with recommendations of a home energy assessment (i.e. Residential Efficiency Scorecard).
The Energy for Everyone subsidy is for eligible concession card holders and households identifying as a member of priority communities (see below for details) who have completed a home energy assessment (i.e. Residential Efficiency Scorecard) in the last 5 years.
Energy upgrades must align with the recommendations of the assessment.

If you identify as one or more of the priority communities specified below, you are eligible for a 50% discount.
Rental providers (landlords) may apply on behalf of an eligible tenant.
Renters and community housing residents may apply, however must provide written approval from their landlord/property manager, Owners Corporation, and/or community housing organisation for upgrades to be installed.
