Solar Savers is providing free advice to Landlords and Tenants whose rental property is located in participating Council areas. We can check if you are eligible for government rebates and then connect you with a trustworthy Installer when both the Renters and Homeowners agree to install solar panels.

What support is available to install solar power?

The State Government, through Solar Victoria’s  Solar Homes Program, is  making it easier and more affordable for homeowners to install solar on their rental properties. Eligible Landlords can access a rebate of up to $1,400 and an interest free loan of the same value on up to 2 rental properties per financial year. For more information, complete the registration form on this page to speak with the Solar Savers team or visit the Solar Victoria website.

To get started, complete the Solar Savers Registration Form for your Council area:

For Landlords / Homeowners… 

  • Is your home valued at under $3 million?
  • Does your home currently not have solar installed?
  • Is the property currently tenanted with a rental agreement in place?
  • Is your property within one of the Solar Savers’ participating councils?

For Renters… 

  • Is the combined annual income of the occupants below $210,000 (based on either of the past two financial years?)
  • Does your home currently not have solar installed?
  • Is your home within one of the Solar Savers’ participating councils (see above)?

If you answered YES, you may be eligible for the Solar Homes Rentals Rebate.
